The power and flexibility of Spice48 is exercised through a
circuit element manager, a schematic creation manager, an analysis manager, a data file
manager, a graphics manager, and an output manager. Spice48 was developed in close
collaboration with experienced instructors from the University of California at Berkeley.
This is the starting point to work with Spice48. It allows
you to add new circuits, delete unwanted circuits, pack circuits to free memory, or
transfer circuits from a PC or Macintosh computer.
This application is used to add, delete, and edit elements
in the current circuit. The circuit elements supported include resistor, capacitor,
inductor, coupled Inductor, independent voltage and current sources, voltage controlled
current or voltage source, current controlled voltage or current source, transient
sources, pulse transient, piecewise linear transient, and function transient. The element
manager works closely with the Node Manager which is used to add, delete, and edit nodes
in the current circuit and set the reference node. A unique feature of Spice48 is that
nodes can be represented by numbers or names.
The analysis manager helps analyze the circuit selected.
Types of analysis allowed include operating point analysis, transfer function analysis, DC
sweep analysis, AC sweep analysis, and transient sweep analysis.
This application is used to create the schematic of the
current circuit by setting node coordinates, setting element coordinates and orientations,
setting wire coordinates, and viewing schematics.
Data File Manager
The data file manager coordinates loading a data file,
deleting a data file, or transferring a data file.
The output manager is used to view, plot, and save analysis
data. It allows analysis and viewing of data by node, frequency, and time. Node plots,
value plots, and display forms give the user a variety of choices.

standard component values for resistors, and capacitors and inductors.
